Russell T. Osguthorpe to present March 8 BYU devotional

Russell T. Osguthorpe, general president of the Sunday School for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and director of the Brigham Young University Center for Teaching and Learning, will speak at the weekly devotional at BYU Tuesday, March 8, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byub.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu.

Previous to serving in the Sunday School presidency, Osguthorpe was a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy. He has served as a stake president, stake and ward Young Men president, counselor in a bishopric, branch president at the Missionary Training Center and president of the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. He has also been a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Osguthorpe holds multiple degrees from BYU, including a doctorate in instructional psychology. He is a professor in the Department of Instructional Psychology and Technology at BYU.
