Russell B. Clark Gerontology Health Conference at BYU March 12

“Generations Working Together” will be the theme of this year’s Brigham Young University Russell B. Clark Gerontology Health Conference, scheduled for Monday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the BYU Conference Center.

Admission to the conference will be free, and anyone interested in the elderly and gerontology is welcome to attend. No registration is necessary. Lunch will be free, and glaucoma testing will be provided free of charge to participants.

The keynote address will be delivered by P. K. Shah, president of the American Heart Association and director of the Division of Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Other presenters will include the BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble and jazz singer Kelly Eisenhour, who will speak on “Music Therapy”; Kari Berit, nationally known teacher of the elderly, who will address “The Unexpected Caregiver”; and Phil Allsen of the BYU Department of Exercise Science, who will talk about “How to Avoid Physiological Bankruptcy.”

The purpose of the conference is to educate the elderly, their caregivers and others interested in the most recent research and ways to improve quality of life.
