Ross Spencer will present BYU devotional address March 30

Ross Spencer, chair of Brigham Young University’s Physics and Astronomy Department, will be the speaker at the weekly devotional Tuesday, March 30, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

In his address, Spencer will discuss the balance between scholarship and faith. Spencer earned a degree in physics from BYU in 1974. He then went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned a doctorate in physics in 1979.

After his studies, he worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory researching fusion energy for five years before joining the faculty at BYU in 1984. His research specialty is theory and computation in plasmas and gas dynamic simulation.
