Robert Landes to give guest piano recital at BYU Sept. 19

Brigham Young University’s School of Music welcomes guest artist and alumnus Robert Landes who will perform a violin recital Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Landes will be accompanied by Kurt Hansen, piano. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

They will perform Mozart's Violin Sonata in A Major, K. 305, the Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, op. 78 by Brahms and Schubert's Fantasy in C Major for Violin and Piano.

Originally from Payson, Utah, Landes received a bachelor’s degree in violin performance in 2009 from BYU, where he served as concertmaster of the BYU Philharmonic. He recently graduated from Rice University in Houston with a master’s degree in violin performance where he studied with Segei Luca and Chao Lin.

Hansen received his bachelor’s in piano performance from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
