Robert Gardner, the Robert J. Smith Professor of Accounting at Brigham Young University, will speak at a campus devotional Tuesday, July 6, at 11:05 a.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium due to construction in the Harris Fine Arts Center.
Overflow seating will be available in W-111 Ezra Taft Benson Building, the Varsity Theater and 2084 Jesse Knight Humanities Building.
The devotional will be broadcast live on KBYU (Channel 11), KBYU-FM (89.1), the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks and on byubroadcasting.org.
It will be rebroadcast Sunday, July 11, on BYU-Radio at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., on KBYU (Channel 11) at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on KBYU-FM (89.1) at 8 p.m.
Gardner has taught at BYU since 1979 and specializes in taxation issues.
In 2001, Gardner was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award in the Marriott School of Management. He was also the recipient of the Times Mirror Teaching Excellence Award in the Marriott School of Management in 1996.
He has also worked for a number of top accounting firms, including Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche and KPMG.
Gardner earned his doctorate degree at the University of Texas, a master's and a bachelor's degree at the University of Utah and a bachelor's degree from BYU.
