Ricardo Paz to present guitar recital at BYU April 27

Renowned Mexican guitarist Ricardo Paz will perform in Utah for the first time Wednesday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free.

Flutist Nancy Toone will join Paz as they perform pieces from a variety of composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Manuel Ponce, Mario Lavista and Astor Piazzolla.

Paz started studying guitar at a young age with the professor Luis Robert and concert guitarist Manuel Lopez Ramos. He graduated in guitar performance from the National School of Music of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He is currently studying composition with Mario Lavista.

Toone directs the Weber State University Flute Choir and is a long-standing member of the Utah Flute Association.
