Registration available for BYU preschool, kindergarten programs

TheBrigham Young University Child and Family Studies Laboratory is now acceptingapplications for its summer school, preschool and kindergartenprograms.t

The summer school session begins June 23 and concludes on Aug. 7. uition for the seven-week summer session is $225.

Those entering kindergarten in September 2008 are eligible for the pre-kindergarten program, children turning four by Sept. 1 are eligible for the preschool program,and those entering first grade in September 2008 are eligible for the post-kindergarten program.

The fall-winter preschool session beginsSept. 8 and concludes on April 14, 2009. The tuition is $1,100 for theeight-month program. The fall-winter kindergarten session begins Aug. 18 andconcludes on May 29, 2009. Tuition is $1,600 for the school year.

Applicationsfor all programs are available in 1100 Joseph F. Smith Building or by calling(801) 422-3219. Applications will be accepted until April 1 or until classesare full. A notification ofacceptance will be mailed to applicants by April 15.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
