Register now for new BYU Summer Youth Writing Camps in June

Registration deadline is Friday, June 8

Brigham Young University’s College of Humanities and Division of Continuing Education have teamed up to create a new series of Summer Youth Writing Camps starting this June.

The one-week writing camps will help children and youth explore their creative side through writing. Participants spend a fun-filled week with other young writers developing their writing skills.

The tuition for the one-week writing day camps are $145 each. This includes five days of instruction, writing and classroom materials, a T-shirt, snacks and an anthology of our young writers’ work. The registration deadline for the writing camps is Friday, June 8, at 6 p.m. Each camp is limited to 40 participants, so register early to be sure of getting a spot.

Grades 1–3, June 18–22

Children who participate in this new one-week writing camp will explore the beautiful BYU campus and write about the sights, smells and sounds of summer. This camp is for young writers who like to feel the sun on their face and the grass under their feet.

Grades 6–9, June 18–22

This camp is designed for pre-teen writers who are passionate about writing and who want to meet other young writers who share their interests. Campers will participate in daily writing exercises and activities that will help them transform their ideas into exciting pieces of writing.

Grades 10–12, June 25–29

This camp is for teens who want to sharpen their writing and related skills such as brainstorming, organizing thoughts, completing drafts, editing and submitting work for publication. These skills also benefit participants who are preparing for the ACT and filling out college applications.
