Register now for BYU Safety Conference Aug. 8-10

The Annual Brigham Young University Safety Conference, “Building a Safe Community: Results Matter.” sponsored by BYU Risk Management and Safety and Church Risk Management, will be conducted Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 8-10. The conference is free to BYU and Church employees.

The conference will be at the BYU Conference Center in Provo. A continental breakfast will be served during registration each morning. Lunch will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Three tracks will be offered covering issues of safety, risk management and training (advanced driving and CPR/AED). An LDS Motion Picture Studio tour, Bean Museum tour and an afternoon of golf are also scheduled.

Registration is required. The deadline for registration is Monday, July 31. Visit the Web site at http://ce.byu.edu/cw/safety to see a schedule and registration information. If you have questions or need additional information, call ext. 2-2568.

A shuttle will be provided from the BYU Conference Center to the Motion Picture Studio. Participants will need to provide their own transportation to and from all other sessions and outings.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
