Reagan, Cold War topic for CIA historian March 21 at BYU

Nicholas Dujmovic, a CIA historian, will speak at the Brigham Young University David M. Kennedy for International Studies on “Ronald Reagan, the CIA and the End of the Cold War” Thursday, March 21, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark building.

Dujmovic has been a member of the CIA History Staff since 2005 and joined the CIA in 1990 as an analyst on the USSR and East Europe. Later he was a speechwriter for the director of Central Intelligence, editor of thePresident’s Daily Brief, and a manager of analysts.

Most of his work is classified, but his unclassified work on agency operations and culture has appeared in intelligence anthologies as well as in the journalsStudies in IntelligenceandIntelligence and National Security.  In 2004, Yale University published his collection of quotations on intelligence and espionage,The Literary Spy.

He is currently at work on a project dealing with U.S. intelligence and the 1982 Falklands War. Dujmovic graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1980 and received a doctorate from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 1996.
