Q’d Up faculty jazz quintet to present free concert Jan. 16

Joined by vocalist Kelly Eisenhour

Brigham Young University's faculty jazz quintet Q’d Up will perform a free concert on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center.

In addition to Ray Smith on woodwinds, Ron Brough and Jay Lawrence on percussion, Steve Lindeman on keyboards and Lars Yorgason on bass, the concert will include Kelly Eisenhour as the featured vocalist and several BYU students as back-up vocalists.

The group will premiere several new compositions written by both Lawrence and Lindeman at the concert. Two of the numbers, “Itsbynne Reel” and “Joy Spring,” will be performed to honor the passing of jazz legends Michael Brecker and Max Roach.

For more information, contact Ronald Brough at (801) 422-3320.
