Press Preview: First Look at New Greg Olsen Painting at BYU

Greg Olsen to be available for media interviews

Location: Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitor's Center, 150 East 1230 North, Provo, UT 

Details: Members of the media are invited to see a new, original painting by artist Greg Olsen which was commissioned for and will be donated to BYU. 

The 52" x 84" oil on canvas painting is titled Treasures of Knowledge and blends the secular and the sacred and the depth of learning that makes BYU unique. The piece features two young adults reading in a room surrounded by many tools of learning - from books and globes to artwork and scientific instruments - depicting a metaphor for a journey of discovery. 

The painting was commissioned by Leo and Annette Beus. They will also be available for interviews at 1 p.m.

The painting will be on permanent, public display in the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitor's Center at BYU starting on Thursday, August 20.
