President James E. Faust to present BYU devotional address March 1

President James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Marriott Center for a Brigham Young University devotional.

Live broadcasts of the devotional are available on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), BYU-Television, KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Radio and byubroadcasting.org, as well as on campus in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and the Varsity Theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. Rebroadcast information is available at www.byubroadcasting.org.

Set apart as second counselor to President Hinckley March 12, 1995, President Faust serves as vice chairman of the Church Board of Education, the board of trustees of Brigham Young University, the Welfare Services Executive Committee and Deseret Management Corporation.

President Faust had been a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles of the Church since 1978. Previously, he served for four years as an assistant to the Twelve and was sustained a member of the Presidency of the First Quorum of the Seventy in 1976.

In 1948, he graduated with his B.A. and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah. He practiced law in Utah until his appointment to serve as a General Authority in 1972.

BYU’s world-class pipe organ is the ‘crown jewel’ of the new Concert Hall

If you haven’t experienced the pipe organ in the BYU Music Building yet, you’re in for a treat. With 4,613 pipes and 81 ranks (sets of pipes), it’s the third largest organ in Utah and the only one with two consoles. Organists can play from a console located in the center of the pipework facade or from a movable stage console.
