President Boyd K. Packer will deliver Education Week devotional Aug. 18

President Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be the speaker at the Campus Education Week devotional Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 11:10 a.m. in the Marriott Center at Brigham Young University.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels. Please visit byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu for rebroadcast and archive information.

Those interested in participating in BYU’s Campus Education Week activities may register for the week, a day, half-day or just a few hours. Advanced registration at reduced rates before Aug. 14 can be completed by telephone, Internet, mail or in person.

A variety of registration options are available at educationweek.byu.edu or by calling (801) 422-2087. At-the-door registration can be done throughout the conference.

President Packer has been serving as President of the Quorum of the Twelve since Feb. 3, 2008. Previously, he was the Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve and has served as an Apostle for the Church since 1970.

Before becoming a General Authority in 1961, he was an educator and supervisor of seminaries and the institutes of religion for the Church. He studied at Weber College and subsequently received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University. He received a doctoral degree in educational administration from BYU.
