President Boyd K. Packer at CES fireside Feb. 2

President Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will address young adults Sunday (Feb. 2) at 6 p.m. in the Marriott Center as part of the monthly CES fireside program.

The event will be broadcast live on the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks. It will be rebroadcast Sunday, Feb. 9, on KBYU-TV (Channel 11) at 6 and 11 a.m., on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and on KBYU-FM (89.1) at 8 p.m.

President Packer was called to his current position of Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve on June 5, 1994 after having served as an Apostle since April 9, 1970. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant to the Twelve for almost nine years.

An educator by profession, he taught at and supervised seminaries and institutes of religion for the Church. President Packer studied at Weber State University, earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University and received an Ed.D. in educational administration from BYU.
