Popular children's book "Go, Dog. Go!" comes to life at BYU's Nelke Theatre Feb. 3-14

Will also perform at Orem Library, Covey Center, area elementary schools

Brigham Young University’s Young Company will present “Go, Dog. Go!” a rollicking, fun-filled Theatre for Young Audiences production Tuesday, Feb. 3, through Saturday, Feb. 14, except Sunday and Monday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre at the Harris Fine Arts Center. A matinee performance will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $11, or $7 with a BYU or student ID, and can be purchased online at www.byuarts.com, by phone at (801) 422-4322 or in person at the Harris Fine Arts Center Ticket Office. The show lasts one hour, and children two years of age and older are welcome.

“Go, Dog. Go!” will visit the Orem Public Library’s Storytelling wing Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. This performance will be free, and tickets are not required. Visit lib.orem.org for more information. Performances at the Covey Center for the Arts will be Tuesday and Wednesday, March 31-April 1, at 7 p.m. Visit coveycenter.org for tickets and more information.

Adapted from the best-selling 1961 children’s book by P. D. Eastman, “Go, Dog. Go!” is a carnival of music, bright colors and physical comedy, according to director Tony Gunn.

“If you or your children find yourselves chuckling during the performance, just remember that you’ve been warned,” said Gunn. “These dogs are going to sing, dance, climb trees, swim, sleep, drive cars, jump rope and play badminton, all for your amusement, and if you’re not careful, you might find yourself on stage with them.”

Cast members are Briana Shipley, Kira Jacobs, Jessalyn Davis, Lindsey Mogensen, Katie Golden and Jordan Long.

Production crew members include dramaturg La Beene, stage manager Lindsi Neilson, scenic designer Heather Starr, makeup and hair designer Amber Wilson, lighting designer Mike Handley and sound designer Troy Streeter.

Following its run on the BYU campus, “Go, Dog. Go!” will tour nearly 40 elementary schools statewide.
