Popular BYU Music/Dance/Theatre Showcases at BYU Feb. 10-11

The Music/Dance/Theatre program at Brigham Young University celebrates its 25th anniversary in its showcase "Triple Threat" featuring alumni and current MDT students on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 10-11, at 7 and 9 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Tickets are $9 with $3 off with a BYU or student ID. For tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322 or visit http://performances.byu.edu.

The program features some of broadways most loved musicals including Tony Award-winning "Wicked," "Mama Mia," "Lion King," "Aida," "Guys and Dolls," "Kiss Me Kate," "Nunsense," "Little Shop of Horrors" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown."

As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the program will also feature guest performances by MDT alumni.

The nationally recognized MDT program is an interdisciplinary, limited-enrollment, professional training program designed to prepare young performers for careers in musical theatre. The MDT program seeks to foster musical theatre artists of the highest caliber.

Many who have graduated from the MDT program have successfully performed in many productions on Broadway including "Les Miserables," "Phantom of the Opera," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "Mamma Mia" and "Cats."

Other graduates have participated in Broadway productions on tour including "Beauty and the Beast," "Hairspray," "The King and I" and "The Music Man."

Graduates of the MDT program are currently performing in Broadway the production of "Good Vibrations," Las Vegas productions "We Will Rock You" and "Mamma Mia" and touring with musicals "42nd Street" and "Hairspray."
