Internationally renowned poet Leslie Norris will be featured at the English Department Reading Series on Friday, March 14, at noon in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium at Brigham Young University.

Norris, an emeritus professor of humanities at BYU, was educated at Coventry College and the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. He began teaching at BYU in 1983 and has taught courses in English romantic literature and creative writing.

He has been the Theodore Roethke Visiting Poet at the University of Washington and the Visiting Poet at Eton College. Norris is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a Fellow of the Welsh Academy.

His works include 12 collections of poetry and two collections of short fiction, critical biography and literary criticism.

The English Department's reading series is designed to give students and faculty exposure to international contemporary writers while providing a forum for local writers to share and discuss their works. For more information, contact Paia Palmer at (801) 422-4949.
