Pipeline installation on 900 East to pause for July 4 events

In an effort to ease traffic congestion on the 4th of July, The Central Utah Water Conservancy District will shut down its installation of a 60-inch water pipeline on 900 East Wednesday, July3, and Thursday, July 4.

As a courtesy, the CUWCD sent Brigham Young University the following information:

During the Freedom Run (which begins at 7 a.m. on July 4) and during and after the Grand Parade (which begins at 9 a.m.), there will be two northbound travel lanes and one southbound travel lane along the 900 East construction zone (1100 North to about 1700 North). This will accommodate both the Freedom Run and the extra northbound traffic heading to the Stadium of Fire event.

After the beginning of the Stadium of Fire (which begins at 8 p.m.), traffic control will shift to accommodate two southbound travel lanes and one northbound travel lane. This configuration will be maintained throughout the night to accommodate the high volume of traffic leaving the Stadium of Fire.

Throughout the day, 900 East intersections will be unrestricted to allow for side-street traffic.
