Noel B. Reynolds has been selected to be the academic director of the Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts at Brigham Young University.
ISPART includes the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies, the Middle Eastern Texts Institute and several other programs devoted to scholarship related to ancient scripture.
Reynolds is a professor of political science and associate academic vice president at BYU. He has a long association with FARMS and ISPART and currently serves as a member of the ISPART board. He has published extensively on topics related to the Book of Mormon and other scriptures.
He assumes the academic director position immediately and will continue to serve as associate academic vice president until a replacement is appointed, according to Gary Hooper, associate academic vice president for research and graduate studies.
