New York Times writer to discuss environment at BYU lecture Feb. 24

Editor and writer for The New York Times Tom Zeller Jr. will be speaking Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building at Brigham Young University. His lecture is presented by the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies.

An editor and writer of alternative energy and green businesses who covered the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in 2009, Zeller will be speaking about the conference, environmental responsibility and global climate change.

Zeller has also worked as editor-at-large for National Geographic magazine. He has been an editor and writer for the last decade covering subjects such as technology, cyberfraud, culture and politics. He has received awards for his multimedia and visual journalism from the Society of News Design for his work in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was also a part of a Pulitzer Prize-winning documentary created by The New York Times.

Zeller received his bachelor’s degree in literature from Cleveland State University and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.

His lecture will be archived online at the David M. Kennedy Center Web site, kennedy.byu.edu. This lecture is sponsored by The New York Times Knowledge Network.
