New piano faculty member in recital Dec. 6

Scott Holden, a new assistant professor of piano studies in the Brigham Young University School of Music will present a piano performance Friday (Dec. 6) at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission to this recital is free.

Holden will present the Utah premiere of "Three Caprices" by Vernon Duke. He will also play from the works of piano favorites such as Brahms and Schumann.

Holden received his D.M.A. from the Manhattan School of Music in 2002, was a Fulbright Scholar and received his performance certificate from The Liszt Academy, Budapest, Hungary in 1997.

Prior to studying in Hungary, Holden received his master's degree in piano performance from The Juilliard School in 1995 and his B.M., also in piano performance, from the University of Michigan in 1992.

Thanks to a group of BYU students and their professor, this year marks a new era for the Food & Care Coalition’s fresh produce supply. Professor Matt Arrington and students recently designed and built a hydroponics greenhouse to provide nutritious produce during the cold months.
