New DMBA medical plans announced

Representatives will be on the BYU campus during October to present meetings focused on the new medical plans and changes to other DMBA programs.

For 2007, enrollees can choose from Deseret Choice (formerly ManagedCare), Deseret Value (formerly BasicCare), Deseret Select (a new IHC exclusive provider organization) or Altius.

Nineteen hour-long meetings will be held Oct. 11-13 and 24-27. A meeting schedule has been posted under “News” on the Benefits home page.

Due to the changes in the medical and other plans, all full-time campus personnel are encouraged to attend one of the sessions.

During October enrollees may change their medical/dental plan enrollment to a different DMBA-sponsored plan or Altius. Enrollment changes will become effective Jan. 1, 2007. Enrollment changes may only be made online with DMBA or through its automated phone system. Please refer to the enrollment materials mailed to you from DMBA.

From now through Nov. 15, campus personnel may also set up a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2007 to receive a tax savings on out-of-pocket medical/dental expenses or dependent child care (day care). This may be done online with DMBA or through their automated phone system. For assistance, contact the BYU Benefits Office, D-240 ASB, ext. 2-4716.
