National association names BYU's Jay Christofferson outstanding educator

From the National Association of Home Builders

Jay Christofferson, a professor in the School of Technology at Brigham Young University, received the Outstanding Educator Award from the National Association of Home Builders at its recent International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla.

This award recognizes and encourages high quality standards in teaching construction education. Educators are recognized for their voluntary extracurricular activities and activities with construction industry organizations as well as their construction experience and professional activities.

Christofferson is nationally known as one of NAHB’s best-selling authors. He has more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications relating to residential construction in circulation. He has been a staunch supporter of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association for more than 25 years, teaching classes and furthering the educational options of the Utah Valley HBA.

In addition to his scholarly activities, he always finds time to guide students through BYU’s challenging construction management major, and ensures that, when they complete his courses and his tutelage, they are ready to take on leadership roles in the workforce.
