National Amateur DanceSport Championships to fill BYU Marriott Center March 13-15

Brigham Young University will again host the National Amateur DanceSport Championships in ballroom dance Thursday through Saturday, March 13-15, in the Marriott Center.

Tickets on the main floor are $30 per day for Thursday and Friday and $50 for Saturday. Arena seating for the general public is $12 per day for Thursday and Friday, $16 for Saturday or $37 for all three days. Arena seating for students and children is $9 per day for Thursday and Friday and $12 for Saturday. Tickets for the BYU student section are $8 per day for Thursday and Friday, $10 for Saturday or $23 for all three days. Tickets are good for all competition sessions held that day.

The championship is divided into six sessions beginning Thursday and ending Saturday evening. Pre-teen, junior, youth and adult contestants will compete in dances that include mambo, foxtrot, polka, swing, tango and cha cha. National amateur titles will be awarded in Latin, standard, smooth, rhythm, cabaret and formation in all age categories.

In addition to the amateur competitions, four of United States’ top professional standard couples will be featured in the event’s third annual “Battle of the Champions.”
