Merrill Christensen to present July 31 BYU devotional

Merrill Christensen, professor of nutrition, dietetics and food science in Brigham Young University’s College of Life Sciences, will speak on “Comparing, Competing and Individual Worth” at the university’s weekly devotional Tuesday, July 31, at 11:05 a.m. in the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium.

In addition to his role as a professor, Christensen also serves as the associate director of the BYU Cancer Research Center. His particular research specialty is in investigating the connection between diet and cancer risk.

Christensen has taught at BYU since 1982 and was named a John A. Widtsoe Fellow in 2000. Prior to joining BYU’s faculty, he earned his doctorate in nutritional biochemistry and metabolism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
