Mentored student research on display at Spring Research Conference March 18

The College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Brigham Young University will host its 20th annual Spring Research Conference displaying mentored research by more than 250 undergraduate and graduate students Saturday, March 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Thomas L. Martin Building.

To kick off the conference, a highlight reel of some of the most outstanding projects at the college will be shown at the general session beginning at 8 a.m.

Admission is free and the public is welcome. Complimentary juice, fruit and pastries will be served.

The conference will highlight research on such topics as Supreme Court justice voting patterns, antibiotic treatments, mathematics education, nanotechnology, digitized handwriting and volleyball skills.

"This is really a unique look into the future," says Tom Sederberg, associate dean of research for the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. “Students come to expand their horizons and to get a break from studying. Parents bring children with a high interest in science. Others come simply because they love to learn about advances in technology.”
