Math whiz Arthur Benjamin to present "Mathemagics" at BYU April 1

Arthur Benjamin — a professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd College by day and a magician by night — will visit Brigham Young University's Department of Mathematics for a unique presentation called "Mathemagics" on Wednesday, April 1, at 8 p.m. in 140 Joseph Smith Building.

Seating is limited, so those who would like to attend should reserve their free tickets by calling (801) 422-2061, e-mailing office@math.byu.edu or visiting the department office in 292 Talmage Building.

Suitable for all audiences, Benjamin’s presentation has captivated the media. He has appeared on Amazing Discoveries, The Today Show and CNN. He has also been profiled in The New York Times, USA Today, People Magazine and many other publications.

"From mentally multiplying enormous numbers faster than a calculator to figuring the day of the week of anyone’s birthday, Benjamin is sure to leave you spellbound," said Cal L. Schoenrock of the BYU Mathematics Department.
