Lee Library will perform routine maintenance during spring, summer terms

Order materials from level one by May 1

With many of the students, faculty, and other patrons absent from the Brigham Young University campus during spring and summer terms, the Harold B. Lee Library will perform routine maintenance in several areas of the building.

From May 1 until the end of August, construction crews will be replacing the ceilings in the center of the library on levels 1 and 2.

The reconstruction will block access to many of the bookshelves and materials in those areas. While a paging system for retrieving books will be in place on level 2, it will not be available on level 1 during spring and summer terms. Faculty members should pick up or order any materials needed from those levels by May 1.

Interlibrary Loan will also be available to order materials that are inaccessible in the Lee Library from other libraries, a process that takes two or three days. Students and faculty will be able to order those books through Interlibrary Loan at the Circulation desk, located on level 3.

Library staff and administrators appreciate patrons’ patience during this time of maintenance. All questions about library facilities and materials can be answered at any of the available reference desks.
