Lawrence Vincent to present BYU faculty vocal recital Feb. 12

Lawrence Vincent, a member of the vocal faculty of the School of Music at Brigham Young University, will present a recital Friday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

He will be assisted by Del Parkinson, piano; Monte Belknap, violin; and Lawrence Green, guitar. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

He will begin the recital with Lennon and McCartney’s “In My Life,” followed by a series of Italian songs and arias as well as a group of songs in German by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Lehar, Johann Strauss and Emmerich Kalman.

The program will conclude with “O Danny Boy” and a setting of songs by American composer Stephen Foster.

Vincent has been the director of opera at BYU's School of Music since joining the faculty in 1997. Before coming to BYU, he enjoyed a successful career in Europe, singing with the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Volks Opera and the Stadttheater in Trier, Germany.
