LaNae Valentine to present BYU devotional June 29

LaNae Valentine, director of Women's Services and Resources at Brigham Young University, will speak at a campus devotional Tuesday, June 29, at 11:05 a.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium due to construction in the Harris Fine Arts Center.

Overflow seating will be available in W-111 Ezra Taft Benson Building, the Varsity Theater and 2084 Jesse Knight Humanities Building.

The devotional will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), KBYU-FM (89.1), the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks and on byubroadcasting.org.

It will be rebroadcast Sunday, June 27, on BYU-Radio at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., on KBYU-TV at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on KBYU-FM at 8 p.m.

Valentine has worked for the past 10 years in university academic settings, behavioral medicine and private practice.

Her clinical interests include women's mental health issues, and she specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, anxiety and marital and family problems.

Valentine received a doctoral degree in 1988 from BYU in marriage and family therapy. She has taught at North Dakota State University, Colorado State University and BYU.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
