• Thursday — Sponsored by the de Tocqueville Club of the Political Science Department, Kirmmse will present “One Day in the Life of the Spy Who Came in From the Cold War — and Found God.”

• Friday — “The Thunderstorm” will conclude Kirmmse’s discussion on Kierkegaard’s troubled ecclesiology.

For the past 20 years, Kirmmse has divided his time between Connecticut and Copenhagen, working as a professor of history at the Connecticut College and as director of the Department of Søren Kierkegaard Research in Copenhagen.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and his master’s and doctoral degrees in intellectual history from the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied at the University of Chicago Divinity School and the University of Copenhagen.
