The news staff of KBYU-FM (Classical 89) has been presented the 2006 National Mark of Excellence award from the Society of Professional Journalists, in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in student journalism in a radio newscast.
Three students were singled out for this achievement -- seniors Marco Villarreal and Jennifer Borget, and Britney Holman, who recently graduated. All three are broadcast journalism majors in the College of Fine Arts and Communications at BYU.
The award was presented Oct. 6 at the SPJ National Convention in Washington, D.C.
