KBYU-FM to broadcast "From the Podium" lecture series

KBYU-FM (89.1) will broadcast a lecture series, "From the Podium" featuring lectures based on the expertise and talents of members of the faculty and staff at Brigham Young University.

The series will air Thursday evenings at 9 p.m. beginning April 3 and continue through May 29 on KBYU-FM, at 89.1 and 89.5 and online at www.kbyufm.org.

April 3: Madison U. Sowell, professor of Italian and comparative literature and professor of religion, will speak on "Dante's Christian Epic."

April 17: Lawrence R. Flake, professor of Church history and doctrine, will speak on "Joseph Smith's Poem of the Kingdoms of Glory."

April 24: Marilyn Berrett, BYU associate professor of dance, will speak on "Children Dancing with Magic: Virginia Tanner's Enduring Legacy."

May 1: Bruce H. Woolley, professor of physiology and developmental biology, will speak on "Herbs: Facts and Fallacies."

May 8: Elaine S. Marshall, dean of the BYU College of Nursing, will speak on "Leadership in Health Care: What Does It Mean at the Bedside?"

May 15: Louise and Ivan Holt will speak on "Building Bridges: Experiences of Teaching English in China."

May 22: Lawrence B. Rees, professor of physics, will speak on "Symbols in Science: The Artistry of Great Physics."

May 29: Don E. Norton, professor of linguistics and English language, will speak on "The Truths of Grammatical Correctness, or How the Language Really Works."
