KBYU to air live funeral and programming on the life of Pope John Paul II

In honor of Pope John Paul II, KBYU-Television (Channel 11) will be airing special programming on Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8. These programs examine:

  • A conversation about John Paul's life and legacy will feature Religion & Ethics Newsweekly correspondents from New York.

  • George Weigel, author of "Witness to Hope: The Biography of Pope John Paul II," will share his insights on this man, his life, his achievements and his times.

  • Live BBC coverage of the funeral proceedings for Pope John Paul II will be broadcast. THURSDAY, APRIL 7

    9 p.m.-"After John Paul," a special from the producers of Religion and News Ethics Weekly.

    FRIDAY, APRIL 8

    2 a.m.-Funeral proceedings for Pope John Paul II (visit kbyutv.org for information on possible rebroadcasts).

    8 p.m.-"Witness to Hope."

    10:30 p.m.—Funeral proceedings for Pope John Paul II (rebroadcast).

    SUNDAY, APRIL 10

    3 p.m.-"After John Paul" (rebroadcast).

    In addition, KBYU-FM (Classical 89) will offer special programming.

    FRIDAY, APRIL 8

    7 a.m.-7 p.m.—Music in Memoriam. KBYU-FM will play one piece each hour in memory of Pope John Paul II.
