Journalist Thomas Goltz at Kennedy Center lecture Nov. 5

A freelance journalist and war correspondent will speak on "Election Time in the Caucasus: Georgia and Azerbaijan Change Horses" Wednesday, Nov. 5, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building on the Brigham Young University campus.

Thomas Goltz, whose articles have been printed in publications such as "The Nation," "Business Week," "Soldier of Fortune," The Washington Post and The New York Times, has covered the post-Soviet wars since the fall of the USSR in 1991.

His other work includes a book on the war in Chechnya titled "Chechnya Diary: A War Correspondent's Story of Surviving War in Chechnya," an exploration of the role and impact of the media in areas of conflict, and "Azerbaijan Diary: A Rogue Reporter's Adventures in an Oil-Rich, War-Torn, Post-Soviet Republic."

The lecture is part of the International Forum Series sponsored by the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies.
