Jazz Lab Band to celebrate Capitol Records era in Dec. 11 concert

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents a tribute to the Capitol Records Era as the Jazz Lab Band performs Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.

The program, directed by Daniel A. Henderson, will feature music from original manuscripts and arrangements available only in the Capitol Records Manuscript Collection at Brigham Young University, including "I Lost My Sugar in Salt Lake City," "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" and "Let's Face the Music and Dance."

The program will also include music by Count Basie, Benny Moten, Arthur Herzog Jr., Anton Dvorak and Lester Young.
