James D. Gordon III to address joy of learning at BYU devotional March 26

James D. Gordon III, assistant to the president for Planning and Assessment, will give an address titled “The Joy of Education and Lifelong Learning” at the Brigham Young University campus devotional Tuesday, March 26, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byutv.org. Rebroadcast information can be found through byutv.org/schedule. Archived devotionals are available at speeches.byu.edu.

Gordon is also Marion B. and Rulon A. Earl Professor of Law at BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. He has served as interim dean and as associate dean for faculty and curriculum at the law school, and as associate academic vice president for faculty at BYU.

He received a BYU Student Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Teaching, and has been named Professor of the Year at the law school several times. He has also received an Abraham O. Smoot Citizenship Award from the university.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
