Jack Reilly Trio to perform tribute to jazz greats at BYU Oct. 11

Brigham Young University’s School of Music welcomes special guest artists The Jack Reilly Trio who will perform a jazz concert Friday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Tickets are $6 each and can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-2981, byuarts.com/tickets.

The Jack Reilly Trio consists of renowned jazz composer and pianist Jack Reilly along with Jay Lawrence, drums, and Matt Larson, bass.

In this recital, Jack Reilly, a renowned jazz pianist, educator and composer whose career has spanned six decades, will play his own compositions in the first half and some of the music of the late, legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans in the second. The recital focuses on the idea of tributes: each of Reilly's pieces in the first half is a tribute to someone else, and the whole second half is a tribute to Bill Evans.
