J. W. “Bill” Marriott, Jr. featured at BYU forum assembly April 3

J. W. “Bill” Marriott, Jr., executive chairman-elect and chairman of the board of Marriott International, Inc., will present a Brigham Young University campus forum address, “From Small Beginnings,” Tuesday, April 3, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

It will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), BYU-Television, KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Radio and byutv.org, as well as on campus in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and the Varsity Theatre in the Wilkinson Student Center. For rebroadcast and reprint information, visit byutv.org or speeches.byu.edu.

At an early age, Marriott developed a passion for business and worked in the family’s Hot Shoppes restaurant chain during his high school and college years. In 1956, he joined the family company full-time and soon afterward assumed management of Marriott’s first hotel.

Today, approximately 300,000 people wearing Marriott International name badges are serving guests in nearly 3,700 Marriott managed and franchised properties in 72 countries and territories. Marriott International has consistently been named to Fortune’s lists of most admired companies, best places to work and top companies for minorities.
