Indonesian ambassador at BYU Kennedy Center April 9

The Indonesian ambassador to the United States will speak Wednesday, April 9, at Brigham Young University as part of the International Forum Series at the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies.

His Excellency Soemadi Djoko Moerdjono Brotodiningrat will speak at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building. His lecture, "Indonesia-U.S. Relations," will also be webcast at http://kennedy.byu.edu/INTForum.

Brotodiningrat became ambassador to the United States in 2002. Prior to that time, he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan and the Federated States of Micronesia.

In 1965 Brotodinigrat joined the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. During the past 38 years, he has worked as director general for foreign economic relations and ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva.
