Indian Ambassador to the United States to speak at BYU Nov. 3

Ronen Sen, Indian ambassador to the United States, will discuss India-U.S. Relations at a Brigham Young University Area Focus Lecture Thursday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. in 250 Spencer W. Kimball Tower.

Sen was appointed ambassador in September 2004. He has had a distinguished career in the Foreign Service since 1966, having served as high commissioner to the United Kingdom as well as ambassador to Germany, Russia and Mexico. Sen has also served as joint secretary to the Indian prime minister, joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and secretary to the Atomic Energy Commission of India.

He has participated in summit meetings with the United Nations, Commonwealth, Non-Aligned Movement, Six Nation Five Continent Peace Initiative, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, International Atomic Energy Agency and G-15, as well as more than 160 bilateral summit meetings.
