Harp Solo, Ensemble concert at BYU Dec. 8

The School of Music at Brigham Young University will present a Harp Solo and Ensemble Concert on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission to the performance will be free and the public is welcome to attend.

The concert, which will be directed by Anamae Anderson, will feature “La Joyeuse-Rondo” by Jean-Phillippe Rameau, “Pensive Moment” by Stephanie Curcio, “Sarabande and Toccata” by Nino Rota, “Piece en sol” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “The Carnival of Venice” by Wilhelm Posse and “Siciliana” by Ottorino Resphigi.

The program will also include “Italian Sunshine” by Eduardo di Capua; “Cecilia” by Paul Simon; “Légende” by Henriette Renié; “Etude de Concert: Au Matin” by Marcel Tournier; “Sweet Georgia Brown” by Ben Bernie, Kenneth Casey and Maceo Pinkard; “Berceuse” by Gabriel Fauré; and “Silent Night.”

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
