Gregory Clark to deliver BYU devotional address May 6

Gregory Clark, a Brigham Young University English professor and associate dean of the College of Humanities, will share "Some Lessons of Faith and Fear" during a BYU devotional on Tuesday, May 6, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The devotional will be presented live on BYU Television, KBYU TV, KBYU FM and byubroadcasting.org. For rebroadcast information, visit byubroadcasting.org.

Clark has taught American literature, writing and rhetoric courses at BYU since earning his doctorate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1985. A celebrated professor, he was previously honored with the BYU English Department Scholarship Award and the English Department Teacher of the Year. He has also directed the composition and American studies programs and served as chair of the English Department.

He has published several books and shorter pieces on rhetoric and rhetorical studies of American culture and served as editor of the journal Rhetoric Society Quarterly for seven years. His current research interests focus on the rhetorical lessons and models of jazz music.
