Get Ready to Swoon: David Archuleta to Headline BYU Homecoming Spectacular

Tickets go on sale this month for October 8-9 shows

Singer David Archuleta will perform as the featured guest on Oct. 8 and 9, at BYU Spectacular, a live concert held in the Marriott Center as part of the Homecoming Week celebrations in the Marriott Center.

Tickets for David Archuleta at BYU Spectacular will go on sale on Monday, July 13, by purchasing a BYU artsPASS - a create-your-own, custom-season-ticket package. Tickets to BYU Spectacular only will go on sale on Tuesday, July 21. Tickets can be purchased at the BYU Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center or Marriott Center, by phone 801.422.2981 or visit BYUTickets.com.

In addition to Archuleta, BYU Spectacular, with a theme of "Make Your Mark," will feature favorite BYU performing groups: Vocal Point, Young Ambassadors, Cougarettes, Ballroom Dance Company, Contemporary Dance Theatre, Women's Chorus and Synthesis.

Archuleta captured national attention when he made it to the runner up spot during the seventh season of "American Idol." Born in Miami, FL, Archuleta moved with his family to Utah when he was six. Since then he's released six albums, won several industry awards, made his TV debut, served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in 2014 added the title track, "Glorious," to the Meet the Mormons movie.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
