Forrest Flake is new BYU assistant administrative vice president for human resource services

Administrative Vice President Brad W. Farnsworth has named Forrest Flake as the new assistant administrative vice president for Human Resource Services at Brigham Young University.

"Forrest brings to this position a rich background in human resource management," said Farnsworth. "In his previous assignments at BYU, he has shown that he is service oriented and is able to make good decisions in difficult situations."

Flake replaces R. Blair Condie, who has been called as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Flake received a B.A. degree in organizational communications from BYU and an M.S. degree in human resource management from the University of Utah.

At BYU he has worked in Employment Services, Employee Relations and most recently as managing director of Compensation and Benefits.

Flake worked in human resources for Marathon Oil Company in Ohio and Louisiana, Transco Energy Company in Texas and Woodgrain Millwork and Ore-Ida in Idaho before coming to BYU in 1999.

He is certified as a senior professional of human resources in the Society of Human Resource Management and is a certified compensation professional in the professional association World at Work.
