"Carol Wincenc is without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary musicians of our day," said Lisa Whatcott, president of the Utah Flute Association. "She has a unique ability to reach out to her audience in an elegant, yet powerful manner. I do not hesitate to say that she has already become a legend to flute players and musicians around the world."
Wincenc is the first prize winner of the Walter W. Naumburg Solo Flute Competition and has appeared as a soloist with numerous symphonies, philharmonics, and chamber orchestras.
The program will include music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Debussy, Edgard Varese, Georges Enesco, Roberto Sierra, Lukas Foss, Joan Tower, Paul Schoenfield and Francis Poulenc. Wincenc will be accompanied on the piano by Jed Moss, keyboardist for the pop group Air Supply.
