Filmmaker to discuss "The Info War" at BYU lecture Sept. 13

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host a documentary film producer and director of Combat Films and Research at a Global Awareness Lecture, “The Info War: A Battle of Words and Images,” Wednesday, Sept. 13, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Dodge Billingsley has covered Middle Eastern and Central Asian wars for more than 15 years, and has produced such documentaries as “Virgin Soldiers” (named as a finalist for a Rory Peck Award for Best Feature), “House of War” (which won the Rory Peck and the Royal Television Society awards), and “Close Combat Attack Apaches: D-Day Operation Anaconda.”

He has produced series for the Discovery Channel and the History Channel, and a film series for the Kennedy Center. The series, called “Beyond the Border,” aired in fall 2004 and in spring 2005. The newest installment in that series will be released this fall.

Billingsley’s lecture will be archived online. For more information, see the David M. Kennedy Center calendar of events at kennedy.byu.edu.
