Registration for BYU employees and spouses may be covered by BYU Benefits. Call (801) 422-8925 for registration information.

The theme for 2005 is a scripture from Matthew 7:8-11 — “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened… If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

The “Families Under Fire” conference is an annual event designed to provide information to families and church leaders dealing with problems facing society, families and individuals. The conference will also feature experts in the fields of counseling, therapy and family issues who will discuss same-sex attraction, abuse, mental illness, depression, youth rebellion, addictions and single-parenting challenges.

Gary and Joy Lundberg, former hosts of a talk show about family issues, will deliver the opening address, “Mormons, Muslims and the Miracles that blessed the children of the Tsunami.”

“This conference is different than others in that breakout sessions help participants really examine how to fix difficult problems,” said Robert Holcombe, program administrator. “This is a conference for the average person; it is not for expert researchers, but for people in the mix who want to get help and help others, as well as leaders in the church gathering information.”

For further program or registration information, please contact Robert Holcombe at (801) 422-6760 or visit familiesunderfire.byu.edu.
