Family specialist Craig Hart will present BYU devotional Aug. 5

Craig Hart, from the Brigham Young University College of Family, Home and Social Sciences faculty, will speak at a campus devotional on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 11:05 a.m. in the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium.

The devotional will be presented live on BYU Television, KBYU TV, KBYU FM and byubroadcasting.org. For rebroadcast information, visit byubroadcasting.org.

Hart served as chair of the Marriage, Family and Human Development Department at BYU from 1998 to 2004. Before coming to BYU, he was an associate professor in the School of Human Ecology at Louisiana State University.

He has authored and co-authored 50 scientific articles on topics including family linkage, parenting processes and children’s social development. He also serves on the Biobehavioral and Behavioral Sciences subcommittee of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Hart received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from BYU in family sciences and his doctorate from Purdue University in child development.
